I really commend the men and women who volunteer their time to help protect this beautiful town. It seems like this community, at times, tends to forget how lucky we are to have such a strong volunteer system despite a lack of recognition. We do not give those who decide to volunteer their time and give back to the community enough credit, those who risk their lives but don't get paid while doing so. Let's not take volunteer firefighters for granted, especially when they take time away from their families for this town.

I got my start with GVFD back in the 70's & 80's; it was top notch then and looks better now. Stay Safe
Thank you Glenville Fire Company for hosting the inaugural BernRR Picnic on Sunday October 11. Your firehouse and grounds are lovely and your firefighters are exactly what firefighters should be, community minded, gracious and kind! (I know, I raised one.). The picnic was a great success and we owe it to you. The kids and the adults loved the trucks! We hope you will allow us to return next year and if ever the Bernese Mountain Dog friends can do anything for to to repay your kindness, we will.
