|Bea and Peter Crumbine to Receive David N. Theis Award for Outstanding Service to the Community|
|March 26, 2019|
The Glenville Volunteer Fire Company will honor Greenwich civic leaders and volunteers, Bea and Peter Crumbine, at its fundraising event on Thursday, October 3, 2019, at Tamarack Country Club. For the past four years, the Glenville Volunteers have presented the David N. Theis Award to Greenwich residents who selflessly and compassionately serve the Town’s people, organizations, and institutions.
Previous recipients include Livvy Floren, Icy and Scott Frantz, Ed Dadakis, and Terry Betteridge.
The award was created to memorialize the life and work of Selectman David Noble Theis, who unexpectedly passed away in 2014. The event and award will serve to commemorate and celebrate Dave’s spirit of selfless service and leadership-by-example.
The Glenville Volunteer Fire Company, founded in 1903, is dedicated to protecting the lives and property of the citizens of Greenwich. Through its fundraising efforts, the Glenville Volunteer Fire Company has been able to acquire specialized equipment that allows for much-enhanced coverage of Glenville, backcountry, the Merritt Parkway, and the entire town.
Ongoing fundraising will help outfit first responders with additional specialized equipment to be used in its mission to serve Greenwich.
The reception and award ceremony will be held at Tamarack Country Club, at 55 Locust Road in Greenwich. Invitations will be mailed this summer to previous event attendees, but all are welcome to join in remembering Dave, and honoring the Crumbines.
Additional information about the event, instructions on how to purchase tickets, or be a sponsor of the evening, will soon be made available on the Glenville Volunteer Fire Company website, or by calling 203-532-9606. https://greenwichfreepress.com/news/government/bea-and-peter-crumbine-to-receive-david-n-theis-award-for-outstanding-service-to-the-community-120363/?fbclid=IwAR1OI0ElJHyX9HcQFqF5yVMi5ZMDSnJ2iGxl_vLLtIn3NNw8OOFZ7_-WsW4
